Coweon announced on the 23rd that it has launched a new Be-Lex smart mattress utilizing sleep technology. Sleep technology is a method that analyzes sleep patterns, which is integrated into mattresses and bedding that improve digital devices or sleeping environments.

This seems to reflect the increased social interest in the importance of deep sleep. According to a survey by the Korean Society of Sleep Medicine, one in three Koreans experiences insomnia. Additionally, data from the National Health Insurance Service indicates a significant increase in patients receiving treatment for sleep disorders, from approximately 860,000 in 2018 to around 1.1 million in 2022.

The new products Coweon is introducing are the Be-Lex smart mattress models S8+ and S6+. Previously, Coweon first unveiled the Be-Lex smart mattress, which uses a pocket-shaped sleep cell that injects air instead of using springs, allowing for pressure variations to adjust mattress firmness. It was the first smart mattress in the country that utilized digital technology to freely control mattress firmness and monitor sleep patterns. At the time, the industry regarded this mattress as an embodiment of sleep technology capable of providing a customized sleeping environment based on user preferences, body types, and sleeping postures.

Before the launch of this new product, Coweon focused on highlighting the comfortable usability and functional advantages unique to smart mattresses for consumers who are still unfamiliar with 'smart mattresses.' To this end, it enhanced the performance of the sleep cell and smart control system—key components of the Be-Lex smart mattress—to expand the range of mattress firmness and include various deep sleep features such as sleep, healing, and care modes, maximizing the convenience of smart mattresses.

The newly launched Be-Lex smart mattress product is considered an optimized product for users. The upgraded smart control system adjusts 80 sleep cells according to the user's body type or sleeping posture, providing a mattress firmness level that the user feels comfortable with.

In particular, the automatic pressure distribution function detects changes in movement even if the user tosses and turns while asleep and automatically distributes pressure on new body parts, maintaining a comfortable deep sleep. Additionally, the healing function, which assists in inducing sleep and providing comfortable rest, has been enhanced, and features for smart focused management and posture adjustment that relieve fatigue in specific body parts are included to support the user's stretching.

A representative from Coweon noted, 'This new product maximizes the functions and convenience inherent in smart mattresses, based on consumer research conducted over the past two years, encompassing Coweon's sleep technology and expertise.' They added, 'With this product launch, we plan to accelerate our penetration into the sleep technology market and spearhead the popularization of smart mattresses.'
