On the 20th (local time), Chairman Jeong had a meal and a conversation with Donald Trump, the U.S. president-elect. It is reported that Jeong was the first domestic figure Trump met since his victory in last month's election.

Chairman Jeong met with domestic media correspondents at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Georgia, saying, "I met with the president-elect. The conversation lasted about 10 to 15 minutes." Jeong also noted, "I had a meal with the president-elect."

Chairman Jeong arrived at Mar-a-Lago Resort in Florida, where the president-elect resides, on the 16th, and spent time having a meal with Trump Jr. Jeong's visit to the Mar-a-Lago Resort was possible due to an invitation from Trump Jr. Initially, Jeong was scheduled to stay for three nights and four days, but the duration extended to five nights and six days.

During his stay at the Mar-a-Lago Resort, Chairman Jeong was reported to have been introduced to several U.S. figures through Trump Jr. There are also predictions that Chairman Jeong will attend the president-elect's inauguration ceremony on Jan. 20. Jeong's side is said to be considering attendance if the government forms a delegation.
