GS Retail announced on the 19th that its mobile app 'Our Neighborhood GS' has nearly reached a record high of 4 million monthly active users (MAU) just two years after its launch.

According to data from the mobile indexing service, the MAU of the Our Neighborhood GS app reached an all-time high of 3.89 million as of October. Considering that the MAU was 1.45 million when the app was first launched in October 2022, this figure represents an increase of 2.44 million over two years. This also marks a record high for offline retail apps, surpassing the MAU gap with mobile apps from convenience stores, supermarkets, department stores, and hypermarkets by over 1 million.

GS Retail analyzed its remarkable growth as being driven by strategies that include the incorporation of differentiated O4O services linked to GS25 and GS The Fresh within the Our Neighborhood GS app and the development of integrated online and offline marketing, successfully attracting both customers of offline stores and online consumption demand. Key O4O services leading the growth of the Our Neighborhood GS app include ▲Quick Commerce (delivery, pickup) ▲Wine 25 Plus (liquor smart order) ▲Last-Minute Discount ▲Pre-Order Sales ▲My Refrigerator (product storage) ▲GS Pay (easy payment).

According to GS Retail, the company's 'Quick Commerce' revenue, which connects the Our Neighborhood GS app to GS25 and GS The Fresh stores across the country as logistical hubs, increased by 67.8% compared to the previous year. The number of orders for 'Wine 25 Plus', which allows users to order over 7,000 types of liquor through the app and pick them up at nearby stores, also rose by 190.2% during the same period.

The revenue from 'Last-Minute Discount' sales of products nearing their consumption deadline surged 430% within a year of its launch. Pre-order products featuring hit items (GS25) or fresh foods (GS The Fresh) at the lowest price level were mostly sold out early.

Additionally, the 'My Refrigerator' feature, which allows users to store GS25 products in the app for later pickup, has accumulated over 100 million items. The number of subscribers to the proprietary payment system 'GS Pay', which offers simultaneous benefits such as payment, discounts, and points accumulation, has already surpassed 4.5 million.

GS Retail plans to accelerate its competitive edge in O4O by utilizing the Our Neighborhood GS app as a springboard in 2025. To this end, the company is prioritizing the development of differentiated services using artificial intelligence (AI) and is speeding up the enhancement of the Our Neighborhood GS app.
