BHC Chicken, the top chicken franchise in South Korea, announced on the 17th that it will enter Indonesia.

On the same day, BHC Chicken announced that it has signed a master license agreement with the Indonesian consumer goods corporation, Nachindo Group. Nachindo Group operates in the bakery and institutional sector.

The signing ceremony on the 16th was attended by key officials from both companies, including Song Ho-seop, the representative of Dining Brands Group, which operates BHC Chicken.

Indonesia has a population of 280 million, making it the fourth largest in the world. Half of this population is young consumers under 30 years of age.

According to BHC, these consumers are accustomed to dining out and fast-food culture, resulting in high demand for fried chicken. Additionally, they noted that the popularity of Korean pop culture, including K-pop, is rising, and interest in K-food is growing.

BHC plans to open its first store in the first half of next year in a major shopping mall in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and will implement a localization strategy.

Considering that Indonesians eat chicken with rice, BHC is developing new menus under the concept of "K-chicken enjoyed as a meal."

It will also receive halal certification in Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim country, while actively utilizing delivery platforms.

BHC operates 27 overseas stores in seven countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. In particular, it entered Thailand this year, opening 11 stores, and also opened its first store in Taiwan.
