Maeil Dairies announced on the 13th that it has proactively recalled its Maeil Milk Original sterilized product.
Maeil Dairies said on this day, "Abnormalities in quality were discovered in some products, prompting the decision to voluntarily recall them." The affected product is the Maeil Milk Original (sterilized) 200㎖, manufactured at the Maeil Dairies Gwangju factory, with an expiration date of February 16, 2025.
This product was contaminated with wash water due to a work error during the manufacturing process, resulting in an off-flavor. Maeil Dairies noted that only products within the specified expiration date are affected, and other Maeil Milk Original (refrigerated) products currently on sale are safe.
Maeil Dairies explained, "We took immediate action through monitoring during production to ensure that this issue does not recur," and added, "We have also verified the quality of products produced on the same line afterwards, and found no anomalies."
He said, "I apologize for the concern caused," and noted, "We will make every effort to ensure consumer safety and product quality management going forward."
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on this day the recall and suspension of sales for the Maeil Dairies Original product, which has a manufacturing date of September 19 and an expiration date of February 16, 2025.
