Lotte Home Shopping announced on the 11th that it has introduced an in-house AI chatbot named 'Belly Gunggeumi'.
Belly Gunggeumi is a combination of Lotte's own character Belly Bear and the word 'curious.' The chatbot applies the design and speech patterns of Belly Bear and primarily answers inquiries related to company life, including greetings, welfare, corporate culture, and management improvement, in real time.
In particular, it is expected to assist with tasks such as providing information linked to in-house systems and generating ideas. This is possible because the generative AI, trained on a large language model, can provide optimal answers to a variety of questions in real time.
According to Lotte Home Shopping, since its initial launch on the 20th of last month, an average of 300 chats have occurred daily. Based on this, the company plans to learn from employee requests to continuously improve the quality of responses and to enhance the system by adding new features.
Kim Yeon-soo, head of the Digital Transformation division at Lotte Home Shopping, said, "We are focused on applying AI technology across all in-house operations to enhance productivity. In the future, we plan to add new features and expand the scope of application to reduce simple tasks and create an environment where we can concentrate on core duties."
