Samyang Foods introduced its global brand ‘Map’ (MEP) for the first time in Thailand and launched new products, grilled garlic shrimp ramen and black pepper chicken ramen, on the 10th.
Map is a name derived from ‘spicy’, and it encompasses the global brand ‘Maptaeng’, which Samyang Foods launched in South Korea last August. Maptaeng is known to have been planned by Jeon Byeong-woo, the 3rd generation owner of Samyang Foods and head of strategic planning, with the goal of becoming the second Budak.
Samyang Foods entered into an agreement with CP ALL, the distribution subsidiary of Thailand's CP Group, and began selling the new products at local Seven-Elevens operated by CP ALL starting on the 21st of last month. Samyang Foods plans to introduce a variety of Map products, beginning with placement in over 14,000 Seven-Eleven stores across Thailand.
To celebrate the new product launch, Samyang Foods operated a pop-up store where local consumers could taste and take photos at Siam Square One in Bangkok from the 7th to the 8th. According to Samyang Foods, 2,500 local consumers visited the store over the two days.
