Daewoo Engineering & Construction said on the 15th that it will fully expand the on-site rollout of smart safety training and an artificial intelligence (AI) real-time translator.
Smart safety training is a digital training system that conducts new and regular safety education for on-site workers using tablet PCs. It computerized the entire training process, from worker information registration and health checks to preparing training result reports. With standardized application of smart safety training, paperwork and on-site administrative burdens are expected to fall significantly.
The AI real-time translator renders a manager's Korean safety guidance into foreign workers' languages in real time and delivers it simultaneously via screen and audio. It improves foreign workers' recognition and understanding of safety information and is effective in reducing on-site confusion caused by language barriers.
A Daewoo Engineering & Construction official said, "Smart safety training and the AI real-time translator are practical on-site support solutions that both reduce unnecessary administrative work and help ensure safety information is delivered accurately to workers," adding, "We will continue to actively introduce smart safety technologies with strong on-site effectiveness to steadily raise our safety management standards."
