Samsung C&T's construction division (hereafter Samsung C&T) said on the 15th that it launched Wellfy, an artificial intelligence (AI) wellness solution that combines space and digital health technology.
The newly launched Wellfy is a portmanteau of "Wellness" and "Comfy," and is an online-offline linked AI wellness solution that helps people manage their health in various spaces where modern people spend their daily lives, such as homes and workplaces.
Samsung C&T will operate a dedicated mobile app together with an offline hub called the Wellfy Station for an organic integration with space. The Wellfy Station was launched after proof-of-concept with startups directly sourced through FutureScape, an open-innovation program that Samsung C&T has operated since 2023.
The Wellfy Station consists of: ▲ Wellfy Body, which measures 37 health indicators including blood pressure, stress, body composition, and skin diagnosis ▲ Wellfy Food, a micro store where users can immediately purchase personalized foods ▲ Wellfy Mind, an immersive space that eases everyday stress.
In particular, Wellfy Mind differentiates itself by offering counseling that manages inner difficulties and stress through conversations with AI and by providing personalized meditation content, powered by an AI model trained on counseling techniques of Professor Kwon Soo-young of Yonsei University.
The dedicated mobile app, Wellfy, accumulates and manages personal health data collected through the service and provides hyper-personalized services based on it. In particular, it is equipped with a "chronic disease prediction AI model" based on the extensive health checkup data and professional medical expertise of Kangbuk Samsung Hospital, enhancing the service's expertise and reliability.
Wellfy will be applied first to the Raemian Trinite One apartment complex in Seocho-gu, Seoul. The three types of Wellfy Stations installed in the apartment community and the mobile app are linked in real time, allowing residents to use Wellfy in their everyday spaces to receive a total wellness service that spans from measuring health indicators to personalized food recommendations and mind care.
Meanwhile, Wellfy is also being introduced at construction sites. As data-based, prevention-focused worker care becomes more important amid the recent digital transformation (DX) and workforce aging, it has been installed at the new construction site of the NCSOFT RDI Center in Pangyo. While verifying various use cases for on-site workers, the company plans to continuously advance the service based on data accumulated on site and user needs.
Beyond the three launched types of Wellfy Stations (Body, Food, Mind), Samsung C&T plans to continue developing and adding devices and to strengthen the data-based hyper-personalized app services. In particular, Wellfy can also be installed in office buildings and shopping and relaxation spaces, so the company plans to expand the ecosystem so that not only apartment residents and construction-site workers but also office workers and shoppers can experience wellness in everyday life.
Cho Hye-jung, Samsung C&T executive vice president (head of the DxP Division), said, "It is a core competitive edge for a construction company not only to build structures but also to provide wellness experiences for the people who use those spaces," adding, "We will continue to strengthen open collaboration with a range of partners, including professional medical institutions, healthcare startups, and food and beverage corporations, to lead an integrated wellness ecosystem combined with space."
