Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) said on the 14th that the process to select a builder has begun for Zone 9-2, the lead district for the integrated reconstruction of Sanbon New Town in Gunpo.
Gunpo Sanbon Zone 9-2 was designated and announced as a special maintenance district in Dec. last year under the Special Act on Maintenance and Support for Aging Planned Cities. The planned number of households is 3,376. Among the lead districts within the first-phase new towns in which LH is participating, the designation of the maintenance district and the project implementer proceeded at the fastest pace.
Under the builder selection procedure, the residents' representative council recruits builders through competitive bidding, then around Jan. next year, after a vote by land and other property owners recommends the final builder, LH, as the project implementer, selects and signs the contract.
LH will push for project implementation approval, the follow-up administrative procedure next year, once the builder selection is completed.
