Samsung C&T's construction division has secured the construction contract for the Mokhwa Apartment project in Yeouido, Seoul, worth 512.2 billion won. Following Daekyo Apartment, it has also won Mokhwa Apartment, solidifying its foothold in Yeouido's redevelopment market.
Samsung C&T said on the 13th that the agenda to select the constructor was approved at the Mokhwa Apartment reconstruction association's general meeting on the 12th.
The Mokhwa Apartment reconstruction project will build three buildings with 420 homes and ancillary community facilities, spanning from seven basement levels to 49 above-ground floors, at 30 Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul. The construction cost is about 512.2 billion won.
The site is adjacent to Yeouinaru Station on Subway Line 5, with Yeouido Hangang Park in front of the complex. Nearby are The Hyundai Seoul, IFC Mall, and Yeouido Elementary, Middle and High schools. Samsung C&T proposed "Raemian Y'nity (RAEMIAN Y'NITY)" as the new complex name, adding the meanings of dignity and infinity to "Y," which stands for Yeouido.
Samsung C&T focused on a layout that gives all homes views of the Han River. By separating and extending the central part of the residential towers and opening the corners, all 420 homes will be positioned to face the river. It plans to apply unit-specific floor plans, including two- and three-sided open layouts and a panorama type, and proposed 2.95-meter-high ceilings and panorama windows up to 12.4 meters long.
The community facility area is planned at 1,135 pyeong, 300 pyeong larger than the association's original plan of 835 pyeong. It will include fitness, a golf practice range, a sauna, and Pilates, as well as lounges and terraces overlooking the Han River.
Im Cheol-jin, head of Samsung C&T's dwellings sales division, said, "Yeouido Mokhwa Apartment is a highly scarce site that embodies the value of both the Han River and Yeouido," adding, "By concentrating the capabilities Samsung C&T holds, including differentiated design and global supertall technology, we will complete a residential masterpiece that shines more as time goes by."
