Yun Kyung-seon, chair of Noifelice, who has run real estate development and implementation projects, has entered the building finishes market. The company launched the building materials brand "Noirium (NOIRIUM)" and is targeting the business-to-business (B2B) market for architects, interior companies, and construction companies with its flexible stone finish "Noistone (NOISTONE)."
On the 10th, Noirium held a brand launch event at "Noi Gallery Gangdong," a product exhibition and experience space in Gangdong District, Seoul, and unveiled Noistone. Noirium is a building materials specialty corporation established in January this year.
Yun has also carried out real estate development and implementation projects. Noifelice took part as the implementation trustee for the 558-household-scale "Icheon Xi The Riche" in Jeungpo-dong, Icheon, Gyeonggi Province. Based on experience accumulated on real estate development sites, Noirium plans to expand its business scope into building material supply and construction.
Noistone is a thin stone finish made from quartz sand, calcium carbonate, and other raw materials to recreate a texture similar to natural stone. As a flexible stone that bends, it can be used even in spaces where it is difficult to apply ordinary stone, such as round columns or curved walls. The company also touted as an advantage that it can be cut and processed on-site without a large stone cutter.
Noirium said Noistone has completed testing by accredited testing institutions on semi-noncombustible performance, indoor air quality, hazardous substance safety, and absorption rate. However, the scope of application for semi-noncombustible performance may vary depending on product specifications and construction methods.
Park Jong-woo, CEO who operates Noi Gallery Gangdong, said, "Natural stone can deliver a luxurious texture, but it is expensive and difficult to install," and added, "Noistone is relatively easy to process and install on-site, which can reduce the work burden."
Noirium is also introducing a "responsible construction" system that combines material supply and construction. It plans to grant its own certification to installers who complete a separate training course and have them build according to prescribed methods to reduce differences in finish quality by site. The product warranty period is set at two years.
The main sales targets are architects, interior designers, contractors, and construction companies. Park said, "Flexible stone is a material in the early stages of entering the domestic market," and added, "We will secure the market's trust by connecting distribution, construction, quality control, and after-sales service."
Following Noistone, Noirium is preparing to produce construction boards in the MDF, magnesium, and calcium silicate families. It plans to build production facilities by the end of this year, conduct trial operations early next year, and then begin full-scale production.
Yun said, "Starting with Noistone and Noiboard, we will continue to develop finish products that can be used on construction sites."
