Daewoo Engineering & Construction said on the 10th that it held an "Open Innovation Day" event on the 8th at the Prugio Art Hall at its headquarters in Euljiro, Seoul.
Open innovation is an open innovation program that, together with the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT), discovers promising startups to lead innovation in the construction industry and supports technology and business collaboration with on-site departments. As a co-host, KICT supports the participating companies' technology verification and commercialization by discovering promising startups in the smart construction field and providing funding for technology demonstration.
At the event, a final evaluation was conducted for nine selected innovative technology corporations after a step-by-step review of a total of 164 technologies submitted across five fields.
The nine selected innovative technology corporations are: ▲ in smart safety and quality, Highlocal and Construction Partner ▲ in AI, Edit Collective, Carillon, Twofit, and Starkium ▲ in Robotics and automation, Gore Robotics ▲ in ports and airports, Spanner ▲ in innovative ideas, Robotom.
A Daewoo Engineering & Construction official said, "This event went beyond simple technology presentations by participating corporations, allowing employees to experience the technologies firsthand, freely exchange opinions, and explore possibilities for collaboration."
Innovative technologies discovered through this program will be reviewed for phased application to Daewoo Engineering & Construction's businesses and sites going forward.
