POSCO E&C said on the 10th that since entering Korea's remodeling and maintenance market, it has achieved a cumulative order intake of 14.3 trillion won.
Remodeling is being used as an alternative to reconstruction among aging complexes with high floor area ratios, such as the first-phase new towns. Reconstruction faces stricter regulations and longer project timelines, while remodeling has a relatively simpler permitting process, allowing for faster progress. It also preserves the building's frame, cutting construction waste and carbon emissions by nearly half.
POSCO E&C created a dedicated remodeling unit in 2014 to enter the market and has won projects covering 46 complexes worth 14.3 trillion won. Orders secured over the past three years total about 5.4 trillion won.
It completed projects including "Gaepo The Sharp Trie," "The Sharp Dunchon Foret," and "Jamsil The Sharp Reuben," and is currently remodeling seven complexes, including Bundang Mujigae Village Complex 4 and Neuti Village Complexes 3 and 4.
POSCO E&C plans to bid in the second half for prime sites such as Bundang Hansol Village Complex 6 and Isu Shindonga Phase 4.
