Shindonga Construction Co. said on the 9th it was selected as the contractor with more than 90% of votes in favor at the "Beomcheon 1 District street housing maintenance project" union general meeting on the 6th. The project will create multifamily housing and ancillary welfare facilities at 737-7 Beomcheon-dong, Busanjin-gu, Busan, consisting of three apartment buildings with 499 households and 76 officetel units, from five floors underground to 42 floors above ground; the total construction cost is about 250 billion won.
Shindonga Construction Co. has been accelerating orders for small-scale and urban maintenance projects this year. Starting with the street housing maintenance project in Bisan-dong, Anyang, Gyeonggi Province (50.3 billion won) in Jun., it recently won the street housing maintenance project in Pungnap-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul (54 billion won) in succession. Adding the Beomcheon 1 District order in Busan, the company will have secured more than 350 billion won in orders from maintenance projects alone this year.
A company official said, "We are focusing our capabilities not only on street housing maintenance projects in Seoul and the capital area but also on provincial urban maintenance projects with strong business feasibility," and noted, "We plan to continue quality order-taking operations centered on areas with solid locations and low risk."
