Daewoo Engineering & Construction said on the 9th that Chairperson Jeong Won-ju met with Vu Dai Thang, the Hanoi mayor of Vietnam who is visiting Korea, and discussed ways to expand investment in new towns, infrastructure, and energy.
Mayor Vu Dai Thang visited Korea with the National Assembly speaker of Vietnam for four days and three nights starting on the 6th. Chairperson Jeong and Mayor Vu Dai Thang met on the 8th at The Lotte Hotel Seoul in Sogong-dong, Seoul, and exchanged views on Daewoo Engineering & Construction's business status in Vietnam and future cooperation plans.
Jeong said, "Daewoo Engineering & Construction has connected investments between local corporations and Korean corporations based on the Starlake new town, and we will continue to expand investment in a variety of areas including new towns, infrastructure, and energy." Jeong then asked for administrative support from the Hanoi city government to ensure the smooth progress of the Starlake new town project.
Mayor Vu Dai Thang said, "We will actively support land compensation for the Starlake City project site and the transfer of government agencies, and work together to ensure the remaining work is wrapped up as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, the Hanoi city government announced the "100-year vision master plan" in Jun., outlining the city's long-term development direction. The city is pushing to reorganize its urban space around the Red River and develop into a multi-level, multi-polar, and multi-core city.
