The 3,216-unit Champions City phase 1, set to rise on the former Jeonbang and Ilshin Spinning site in Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Metropolitan City, is moving into a full-scale sales schedule.
Champions City Complex Development PFV said on the 2nd it will open the Champions City phase 1 model home on the 4th and begin sales.
The complex will be built at 100-1, Im-dong, Buk-gu, with 12 buildings ranging from three floors underground to 49 floors above ground, totaling 3,216 units with exclusive areas of 84–214 square meters. About 79% of the total, or 2,534 units, are 84 square meters. Construction will be handled by WOOMI Construction Co. and Shinyoung C&D.
Applications will proceed with special supply on the 14th, first priority on the 15th, and second priority on the 16th. Winners will be announced on the 22nd, and legitimate contracts run from the 5th to the 9th of the following month.
First-priority applications are open to residents of Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Metropolitan City who are at least 19 years old, have held a subscription savings account for at least six months, and meet the regional and size-specific deposit requirements. Heads of household, household members, and homeowners are all eligible to apply.
For the 84-square-meter units in the general supply, 40% will be allocated by point system and 60% by lottery. For units exceeding 85 square meters, such as the 103, 112, and 128 square meters and penthouses, a 100% lottery will apply. Seventy-five percent of the lottery allocation will be given first to members of households without a home.
The contract deposit is 5% of the sale price, and buyers can sign with a first deposit of 10 million won. Resale is allowed six months after the winner announcement date.
Champions City is a mixed-use development project to develop about 298,000 square meters of the former Jeonbang and Ilshin Spinning site. In addition to a total of 4,315 residential units, The Hyundai Gwangju, a luxury hotel, a cultural park, and office facilities are slated to be built.
Champions City phase 1 is the first residential complex to be offered among these. A cultural park utilizing the industrial heritage of Jeonbang and Ilshin Spinning is planned near the complex, and The Hyundai Gwangju is proceeding with the goal of completion in May 2029.
In terms of transportation, Seogwangju IC and Mujin-daero are accessible, and Gwangju Station, Gwangju–Kia Champions Field, and Shinsegae Department Store are nearby. An elementary school is also planned near the complex.
Except for some unit types, the complex will feature terraces and three-sided balcony designs. A roughly 300-meter-long central park will be created in the middle of the complex, and community facilities such as a 25-meter indoor swimming pool, an indoor golf practice range, a multipurpose indoor gymnasium, and a fitness center are also planned.
On the 44th floor, a sky community will include a sky lounge and guesthouse. Samsung C&T's residential-life platform HomeNIC, an AI robot, and a food-waste automatic transfer system are also planned to be applied.
A Champions City official said, "This is the first residential complex in a mixed-use development where residential, commercial, cultural, and office facilities are created together," adding, "Through the model home, people will be able to see the complex's offerings and the future look of Champions City."
Move-in is scheduled for November 2030.
