Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) said on the 31st that it will hold the "2026 second-half dwellings purchase program briefing" at 2 p.m. on the 1st of next month at the LH Gyeonggi Southern Regional Headquarters.
The briefing was arranged to actively publicize improvements to the purchased rental program newly introduced under the government's Aug. 13 measures, "rapid supply plan for dwellings to stabilize the jeonse, monthly rent, and sales markets."
At the event, LH will provide a comprehensive guide to key improvements, including ▲ improvements to the new-build purchase agreement system ▲ key design review items and proposed layouts ▲ financial support for new-build purchases ▲ improvements to the existing dwellings purchase system.
In particular, it will give details on improvements to the pricing method for new-build purchases. LH said it will use the comparable transaction method as the principle when calculating prices for new-build purchases, while in regulated areas in the greater Seoul area it will also apply the cost method, which can reflect increases in construction costs, to induce early groundbreakings.
There will also be an explanation of the simplified intake for new-build purchases and the advance site review program. As part of diversifying the purchased rental program, applications can be submitted with only a simplified business plan without design drawings, significantly lowering the barrier to entry.
At the time of application, the requirement to secure 100% of land ownership or consent for appraisal has been eased to 75%, reducing the initial application burden. For state- or public-owned sites, applications can be submitted with only documentation confirming the land is eligible for sale.
On the day of the event, six customized consultation booths will be set up at the entrance to the main auditorium with participation from LH headquarters, four regional headquarters in the greater Seoul area, Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG), and banks. Visitors to the booths can receive one-on-one consultations.
Lee Seong-hun, the LH president, said, "To make the effects of the Aug. 13 measures visible early, we will widely publicize the program improvements to increase private-sector participation and speed up supply," adding, "We will supply more high-quality dwellings in urban areas, more quickly, to ease the housing burden on people without dwellings."
