POSCO E&C said on the 31st that it developed AnwoollimR, a remodeling apartment–exclusive floor noise reduction technology, and became the first in Korea to obtain the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's "post-verification certification for floor noise."
Remodeling apartments often have thin floors and are prone to floor noise, but POSCO E&C said AnwoollimR effectively reduced noise by improving both the floor and ceiling structures.
Performance measurements by an accredited testing agency showed that both the sound of children running or walking (heavy impact noise grade 3) and the sound of lightweight items such as toys dropping (light impact noise grade 1) met the same legal standards as new apartments.
A POSCO E&C official said, "AnwoollimR minimizes ceiling height loss while reducing floor noise, a technology that can raise both the residential satisfaction and asset value of remodeling dwellings," adding, "We will continue to set new standards for residential quality in Korea by developing effective technologies."
