The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said on the 30th it will hold policy briefings for stakeholders in maintenance projects nationwide in Seoul on Sept. 1 and in Daejeon on the 3rd.
This briefing was planned to quickly deliver to the field the key points of the "swift supply plan for dwellings" announced on Aug. 13 and to share concrete support measures.
The briefing will give a detailed introduction to the core items of the amendment to the "Act on the Maintenance and Improvement of Urban Areas and Dwelling Conditions for Residents," as well as the government's aims for improving the maintenance project system. In particular, key related institutions such as Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG), Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH), and Korea Real Estate Board (REB) will participate in large numbers to provide a comprehensive guideline ranging from financial support policies related to relocation loan assistance—which residents find most difficult during the maintenance process—to procedures for promoting public redevelopment and the system for verifying the appropriateness of construction costs.
The briefing will take place for three hours from 2 p.m. on Sept. 1 at the Yonsei Severance Building at Seoul Station and on the 3rd at the Chungnam Headquarters of Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) at Daejeon Station. Those wishing to attend can apply in advance through the Korea Real Estate Board (REB) website or register on site on the day.
Yun Yeong-jung, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) director for dwelling maintenance policy, said, "We are continuously improving project procedures so that maintenance projects can proceed quickly, while also expanding support to resolve on-site difficulties such as project profitability and financing," adding, "We hope this briefing becomes an opportunity to actively utilize the changed policies and various support programs in the field, and we will continue to accelerate maintenance projects so that the supply of dwellings in urban areas can become visible early."
