Daewoo Engineering & Construction said on the 27th that Chair Jeong Won-ju met with Le Minh Hoang, Vietnam's Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources, who is visiting Korea, and conveyed the company's intention to take part in energy projects including nuclear power and liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals.
Jeong said, "Based on more than 30 years of experience and capabilities in Vietnam, we aim to make a tangible contribution to expanding Vietnam's nuclear power and energy infrastructure through localization."
She added, "We will not stop at simply participating in projects as a foreign company," and emphasized, "In particular, if we take part in nuclear power projects, we will go beyond merely carrying out construction work to share Daewoo Engineering & Construction's nuclear power construction technology and experience and actively support improvements in local corporations' technology, quality capabilities, and competitiveness."
Daewoo Engineering & Construction is also reviewing cooperation measures such as training local talent, technical cooperation, and building supply chains to participate in Vietnam's nuclear power projects. In addition to nuclear power, it plans to pursue participation in energy infrastructure projects such as LNG terminals.
