The National Geographic Information Institute of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said on the 17th it will accept entries for the 21st National Children's Map Drawing Contest through Oct. 6. Any elementary school student nationwide can participate.
The theme is "Map in everyday life" (Map In Everyday Life), and participants should use the world map as a subject and add imagination to everyday life. Works can be submitted by visiting the National Geographic Information Institute in person or by mail or courier. A total of 27 winners, including one grand prize, will be selected and awarded, and the winning entries will be posted on the National Geographic Information Institute website in Nov. and exhibited at the National Map Museum.
The grand prize and top excellence award winners will be submitted as Korea's entries to the Barbara Petchenik Children's World Map Drawing Competition in 2027, organized by the International Cartographic Association.
