Namkwang Engineering & Construction disclosed on the 13th that a death occurred while it was carrying out its own construction at the Pohang Blue Valley in North Gyeongsang.
The company said, "One person died during treatment after suffering burn injuries due to a small generator fire," and noted, "Police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) are inspecting the site, and the company will also establish measures to prevent a recurrence."
Meanwhile, Namkwang Engineering & Construction also changed its CEO on the same day. CEO Kim Jong-su resigned and Shin Seung-cheol was newly appointed as CEO. Accordingly, the co-CEO system shifted from Kim Jong-su and Lee Dong-cheol to Lee Dong-cheol and Shin Seung-cheol. Newly appointed CEO Shin previously served as a director at Kolon Global's infrastructure division and as head of the civil engineering division at Geukdong Construction, and is currently serving as president of Samgwang Engineering & Construction.
