Daewoo Engineering & Construction said on the 13th it was selected as the preferred bidder for EPC for Papua New Guinea's LNG project "Papua CPF and Wellpads EPSCC."
The Papua LNG project is one of the largest resource development projects in Papua New Guinea, extracting natural gas from the Elk-Antelope gas field and producing about 6 million tons (t) of LNG annually. Daewoo Engineering & Construction will solely carry out the entire process of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPSCC) for the central processing facility (CPF) and auxiliary facilities that process and refine natural gas produced at the gas field and supply it to a liquefaction plant near the capital, Port Moresby.
A Daewoo Engineering & Construction official said, "Based on our past successful project performance, we will execute the final investment decision (FID), sign the main contract and start the main construction on schedule to further solidify our position in the global energy market."
