The Private Urban Core Complex Development Association (the association) said on the 6th that it held its first regular monthly meeting on the 5th.
Preparatory chairs and vice chairs from sites nationwide, including Seoul, attended the meeting.
At the regular meeting, participants discussed plans to overcome key institutional hurdles such as the arterial road frontage ratio regulation and upzoning issues for Type 1 and Type 2 general residential areas (seven stories or fewer); responses and policy proposals regarding the delayed establishment of Seoul's residential-centered operating standards; and building a stable administrative foundation to improve legal knowledge related to urban redevelopment by holding joint seminars with related institutions (trust companies, maintenance firms, urban design, and others).
Ahead of Seoul's announcement of residential-centered operating standards, the association carried out policy proposal activities, including delivering a petition to the central government and the Seoul City Council that gathered voices from each site. It also said it plans to break unreasonable administrative regulations and shorten project timelines through media public discourse and collective civil petitions.
