Lotte Construction said on the 29th that it has introduced an "Autonomous Driving" floor cleaning robot (hereafter Autonomous Driving cleaning robot) to construction sites to reduce simple tasks such as cleaning by on-site workers and improve work efficiency.
Previously, construction site cleaning was carried out through labor-centered manual work, with workers directly collecting trash and removing dust with vacuums. In the process, a large amount of fine dust was generated, and even in hot weather, workers had the inconvenience of wearing dust masks while working.
To address this, Lotte Construction collaborated with the robotics company TXR Robotics at the under-construction Hyosung District urban development project multifamily housing 4BL site in Incheon, conducted a proof of concept (PoC) for the Autonomous Driving cleaning robot, and began actual operation. The company plans to expand its application to cleaning work at completion sites in the future.
The Autonomous Driving cleaning robot learns spatial information and cleaning ranges based on a pre-entered site map and autonomously cleans along the designated work area. It moves on its own to clean general trash and dust, then returns to its charging station to recharge. In the process, it can detect workers and obstacles, and its built-in lights enable unmanned operation at night with low illumination.
A Lotte Construction official said, "We expect that introducing this Autonomous Driving cleaning robot will reduce simple, repetitive tasks such as cleaning and allow on-site workers to focus more on actual construction, further improving work efficiency."
