Hyundai Engineering & Construction said on the 23rd that it selected 12 startups through the "2026 Hyundai Engineering & Construction × Seoul startup open innovation" contest, which it co-hosted with Seoul Business Agency.
A total of 156 startups applied for this year's fifth contest. After document and presentation evaluations and drawing up plans for proof of concept (PoC), 12 companies were finally selected across five fields: three in construction artificial intelligence (AI) transformation (AX), three in future housing, two in lifestyle, three in Digital Healthcare, and one in smart construction technology.
The corporations selected will conduct proof of concept (PoC) of technologies and services with Hyundai Engineering & Construction's on-site departments for about four months from this month through October. Hyundai Engineering & Construction will provide commercialization support funds and opportunities for demonstrations, and based on the results, it plans to pursue on-site application; joint development of new technologies and new products; purchase contracts; and investment reviews.

From 2022 through last year, Hyundai Engineering & Construction carried out proof of concept (PoC) with a total of 43 startups through the contest, and among them, it continued follow-up cooperation with 27 companies, including joint development of technologies and products and purchase contracts.
As a representative case, after validating a joint housing robot delivery service with "Mobin," a startup selected in 2023 that develops Autonomous Driving delivery robots, the service was applied to the THE H Edelweiss site in Aug. last year.
A Hyundai Engineering & Construction official said, "We will expand collaboration opportunities so that innovative technologies can lead to businesses through cooperation with startups."
