Kumho E&C said on the 23rd that it won the contract for the "Jangji bus depot three-dimensional development construction project," which will create public housing, a bus depot, and recreational sports facilities on the site of the Jangji public bus depot in Songpa District, Seoul.
The total construction cost of this project, ordered by the Seoul Housing and Urban Development Corporation (SH), is about 350.6 billion won including value-added taxes. Kumho E&C, holding 50% equity as the lead company, will carry out the project through a consortium with Dongbu Corporation and Godeok General Construction.
Construction is scheduled to start in Oct. 2026 and be completed in Aug. 2030.
The project will convert the aging outdoor bus depot into an indoor depot and proceed by building public housing, recreational sports facilities, neighborhood living facilities, and a park in the upper space.
The total floor area is 139,975 square meters, with two buildings from two floors underground to 25 floors above ground. The apartment complex will consist of 658 units in total.
Recreational sports facilities such as a swimming pool and a gym will be installed from basement level one to the fourth floor above ground. The bus depot and offices will be on the first to third floors above ground, retail and community facilities on the third to fifth floors above ground, and apartments on the sixth to 25th floors above ground.
A park will be created above the depot, and a green space that connects surrounding green areas and the Jangji Stream will also be provided.
A Kumho E&C official said, "We will push the project forward based on our experience in public development and construction."
