Kukdong Engineering & Construction said on the 14th it will participate in the bid for a participatory street housing maintenance project by the Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) for the area around 1003, Siheung-dong, Geumcheon-gu, Seoul.
Chief Executive Kang Kyung-min of Kukdong Engineering & Construction and key executives visited the Siheung-dong project site on the 10th to examine the location and business conditions and to review the progress. Kukdong Engineering & Construction is reviewing the project as part of its strategy to expand maintenance projects in southwestern Seoul.
The project will redevelop the existing 98 households, including Daheung Villa, into a multifamily housing complex with four buildings, from four stories underground to 20 stories aboveground, totaling 231 households. It was selected as a target site through a public call by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and LH, and after the area was designated a small-scale housing maintenance management zone in 2022, the association and LH signed a joint project implementation agreement in 2024.
A Kukdong Engineering & Construction official said, "Southwestern Seoul, including Siheung-dong, is an area where transportation network expansion and maintenance projects are progressing simultaneously," and added, "We are preparing to contribute to stable project execution and improvements to the residential environment through a housing model tailored to the area's characteristics."
