Self-storage corporations IMBOX said on the 12th it will fully introduce a participatory program, "community manager," to create a safer and more pleasant storage environment together with customers.
The program was planned to foster a culture of cherishing and tending a shared warehouse like "my space" or "my home." IMBOX plans to build a new cooperative operating culture by boosting site safety through customers' small attention and participation while providing practical rewards to participating customers.
To that end, IMBOX plans to recruit one or two community managers per branch and continue more meticulous and intensive branch management together with customers. By identifying and managing inconveniences in advance from the perspective of customers who actually use the space, it expects to move beyond one-way management to achieve practical and high-quality improvements to branch environments.
Community managers will handle on-site management, including regular inspections of entrance doors, leaks, dehumidifiers, and cleanliness during branch visits, as well as simple tidying and reporting of abnormalities.
Rewards will be offered to participating customers. Customers who perform regular inspections receive 5,000 won (up to 50,000 won per month), and if they also carry out simple on-site measures, they receive a 10,000-won storage fee discount coupon. In particular, customers who report emergencies such as leaks or breakdowns early will receive special awards.
An IMBOX official said, "By having customers directly participate in branch management, we expect even the finer points that management may have missed to improve," adding, "We will continue working to create the best storage environment."
