Seoul approved the project implementation plan for the reconstruction of Eunma Apartments in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu. It comes about seven months after the decision to change the maintenance plan and is the first case where "Rapid Integrated Planning Season 2" has been applied.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government said on the 2nd that it completed approval of the project implementation plan for the reconstruction of Eunma Apartments. Seoul and Gangnam-gu plan to push the project forward with the goal of starting construction in 2028 after follow-up procedures.
Eunma Apartments, completed in 1979, passed integrated deliberation on the maintenance project in Feb. this year after the decision to change the maintenance plan in Nov. last year, and received approval for this project implementation plan after consultations with related agencies and a resident viewing.
Under the approved project implementation plan, Eunma Apartments will be rebuilt on a 243,552.6㎡ site as 29 residential buildings with 6 basement levels to 49 above-ground floors, totaling 5,850 households. Of these, 909 will be public rental housing and 195 will be public sale housing.
The complex will include public contribution facilities such as a park, a public parking lot, and an open library, and a detention basin will also be installed to prevent flooding.
The reconstruction of Eunma Apartments will proceed with the goal of starting construction in 2028 after steps including approval of the management and disposition plan, relocation, and demolition.
Seoul plans to designate Eunma Apartments as a core supply strategy project and manage the remaining processes, while Gangnam-gu will operate the "Gangnam Reconstruction Swift Harmonization (TF)" directly under the district mayor to support the project.
Choi Jin-seok, head of Seoul's Housing Bureau, said, "Approval of the project implementation plan for Eunma Apartments will become a representative case of swiftly pushing reconstruction," adding, "We will actively support the project to expand dwellings supply."
