Choi In-ho, president of the Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG), said, "In step with the government's policy to expand the supply of non-apartment public rental dwellings in the Seoul metropolitan area, this year we plan to push forward with supplying a total of 3,600 Dependable Jeonse Dwellings, greatly exceeding last year's supply of 1,800 units."
According to HUG on the 19th, Choi visited a Dependable Jeonse Dwelling in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, on the 18th, the previous day, inspected the dwelling before and after repairs, and made these remarks.
Dependable Jeonse Dwellings is a program in which HUG directly purchases dwellings for which it has repaid the jeonse deposit on behalf of tenants and supplies them as public rental dwellings to households without homes.
Choi held a meeting with officials from the property management companies for Dependable Jeonse Dwellings to hear key requests from tenants and on-site difficulties.
At the meeting, Choi emphasized, "Because Dependable Jeonse Dwellings is an important policy program for stabilizing people's housing, management after move-in is as important as expanding supply," and added, "We will do our utmost to improve housing services by actively reflecting on-site feedback so tenants can live with greater peace of mind."
HUG plans to continue actively supporting the government's dwellings supply policy and to contribute to stabilizing people's housing through the systematic operation and service improvements of Dependable Jeonse Dwellings.
