HJ Shipbuilding & Construction's construction division said on the 18th that it was selected as the preferred bidder for the "Jecheon–Yeongwol expressway construction project (Section 3)" ordered by Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC).
The newly awarded Section 3 is a 6.4-kilometer section connecting Jajak-dong, Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province, and Daejeon-ri, Eosangcheon-myeon, Danyang County, North Chungcheong Province. The work includes the construction of a new four-lane, two-way expressway with a width of 23.4 meters, five bridges, one tunnel, and drainage facilities. The contract amount is 212.6 billion won, and the construction period is 84 months from the groundbreaking date. HJ Shipbuilding & Construction holds 70% equity and is participating as the lead company, and it ultimately won the order as part of a consortium with Shinsung Construction (10%), Uuil Construction (10%), and Cheongin Construction (10%).
An HJ Shipbuilding & Construction official said, "We will do our utmost to build a top-tier expressway that will become a key piece of regional infrastructure, prioritizing rigorous quality control and safety through close cooperation with our partners."
