The Banpo Mido 1st Apartment reconstruction and maintenance association said on the 18th that it passed the 12th Seoul integrated review committee for maintenance projects with a "conditional approval." The integrated review, conducted under the Urban and Residential Environment Improvement Act, streamlines maintenance project procedures by consolidating various reviews needed for project implementation plan approval—architecture, landscape, traffic, environment, disaster, education, parks, and maintenance plan changes—significantly shortening the timeline compared with the previous process of conducting each review separately.
Banpo Mido 1st is a complex completed in 1986 and is considered the last large-scale reconstruction site in Banpo-dong. Express Bus Terminal Station on Lines 3, 7, and 9 is nearby, as are Shinsegae Gangnam Department Store and The Catholic Univ. of Korea Seoul St. Mary's Hospital.
According to the integrated review plan, Banpo Mido 1st will be rebuilt from the current 15 floors and 1,260 households to nine buildings with up to 49 floors and 1,743 households. In this review, value-adding elements such as a 49th-floor sky bridge and a direct pedestrian path toward the Express Bus Terminal were secured.
