Korea Real Estate Investment & Trust Co. (KOREIT) said on the 17th that Eunha Village in Jung-dong, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon, received a notice on the 15th designating it as a special maintenance zone and approving a special maintenance plan. It came five months after the proposal to draft the special maintenance plan in January.
Designation as a special maintenance zone is a procedure under the Old Planned City Maintenance Act to designate an area for promoting a maintenance project, and includes a maintenance plan that forms the basic framework for future project promotion, such as land-use plans and infrastructure plans.
After receiving the application to draft the special maintenance plan in January, Eunha Village completed the Landscape and Urban Planning Committee review on May 8 following a public viewing by residents and the city council's opinion hearing.
The residents' delegation and Korea Real Estate Investment & Trust Co. (KOREIT) plan to begin collecting consent forms for designation of the project implementer after the special maintenance zone designation. After the notice designating the project implementer, they plan to push ahead within the year with forming a maintenance project committee and selecting partner firms.
Eunha Village consists of four complexes—Daewoo-Dongbu, Hyosung-Ssangyong, and Jugong Complexes 1 and 2—with a total of 2,387 households. If reconstruction proceeds, it is expected to be developed into a complex of about 3,400 households.
Buhung Elementary School is located within the complex, and Bucheon City Hall Station on Subway Line 7 is nearby. It is also cited as being within the catchment of Bucheon Sports Complex Station, where the GTX-B line is planned.
In addition, Hyundai Department Store, E-MART, Bucheon City Hall, and SoonChunHyang University Bucheon Hospital are located nearby, and green spaces such as Bucheon Central Park, a children's park, and a neighborhood park are also adjacent.
