GS Engineering & Construction secured construction rights for urban redevelopment projects in Yongin and Gunpo, pushing this year's cumulative orders for urban renewal projects past 5 trillion won.
On the 31st, according to the industry, GS Engineering & Construction was selected as the contractor for the Suji Samsung Phase 4 reconstruction in Yongin and the Geumjeong District 4 redevelopment in Gunpo, respectively. The combined construction cost for the two projects is 842.5 billion won.
The Suji Samsung Phase 4 reconstruction will demolish the existing 1,137-unit apartment complex and rebuild it into 11 buildings with 1,210 units, from four floors underground to 29 floors above ground. The construction cost is 504.3 billion won.
The Geumjeong District 4 redevelopment will create a residential complex covering the Geumjeong-dong area of Gunpo, consisting of six buildings with 900 units, from four floors underground to 33 floors above ground, with a construction cost of 338.2 billion won.
Including these orders, GS Engineering & Construction's cumulative orders for urban renewal projects this year have exceeded 5 trillion won. The company's order target for urban renewal projects this year is 8 trillion won.
