Mok-dong Complex 6 apartment in Yangcheon District, Seoul, became the first among Mok-dong's 14 reconstruction complexes to pass Seoul City's integrated review.
Seoul City said on the 29th that at the 10th Integrated Deliberation Committee for maintenance projects held on the 28th, it conditionally approved the integrated review plan in six areas—architecture, landscape, traffic, environment, education and disaster—for the reconstruction of Mok-dong Complex 6 apartments in block 911 of Mok-dong, Yangcheon District.
Mok-dong Complex 6, an aging complex completed 40 years ago, will be reborn as a large-scale community with 18 buildings, 49 stories above ground, and 2,170 households, up from 5 buildings and 1,362 households after reconstruction.
In addition, a 15-meter-wide public pedestrian passage will be created to connect Mok-dong Complex 5 to the west of the site and Anyangcheon to the east, strengthening pedestrian connectivity. In the north–south direction, a 15–25 meter public pedestrian passage linking the commercial street and landscape green space will be secured to improve commuting convenience for students of Yangjeong Middle and High School and Gyeongin Elementary School nearby.
An arcade shopping area and street mall are planned along Mokdong-ro. An elevator will also be installed on Anyangcheon-ro, and a three-dimensional pedestrian overpass will be built over Gukhoe-daero, improving access to Anyangcheon and Mokdong Sports Complex.
