Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) said on the 27th that it created the "Seoul Seoripul project group" to sharply accelerate the project and aim to supply dwellings in the Seoul Seoripul district in 2029.
The "Seoul Seoripul project group" is a project organization under a Grade-1 project manager (PM) system, structured into a "compensation team" in charge of compensation work and a "complex project team" dedicated to district planning, permits and approvals, and design.
LH will set up the project group near the site and integrate and unify tasks that had been split between headquarters and regional branches, so the group can handle them exclusively, thereby boosting execution and efficiency and supporting swift responses to pending issues and decision-making.
In particular, through the project group, it will strengthen the linkage between compensation and district planning, and minimize time gaps at each stage from district designation to groundbreaking, thereby drastically shortening the project period. In line with the government's Sept. 7 package, the Seoripul district had initially targeted groundbreaking in 2029, but the goal has been adjusted to make the supply of dwellings in 2029 possible, and related procedures will be accelerated to meet the government's push to advance dwelling supply.
In addition, it will run the "win-win committee," a communication body in which the residents' countermovement committee participates, to strengthen communication with residents, and it plans to quickly consult with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) and local governments on requests that need policy support.
Acting LH President Jo Kyung-suk said, "The Seoul Seoripul district is a lead project of very high policy importance, so we will drastically shorten the permitting and compensation procedures by creating a dedicated organization," adding, "We will do our best to deliver dwelling supply results that the public can feel, based on on-site expertise."
