Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) said on the 21st that it will recruit first-priority tenants for "existing dwelling jeonse rentals" for low-income households without dwellings.
In the jeonse rental program, if the eligible tenant directly finds a dwelling to live in within the support limit, LH signs a jeonse contract with the dwelling owner and then re-rents it to the eligible tenant at a low rate. It can protect tenants' deposits and provide a stable residential environment.
This announcement targets low-income households without dwellings, such as recipients of livelihood and medical benefits, single-parent families, and people with disabilities, and supplies a total of 4,500 units in the Seoul metropolitan area (Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi), metropolitan cities, and cities with populations of 80,000 or more. By region: ◇ Seoul 1,326 units ◇ Incheon 471 units ◇ Gyeonggi 1,203 units ◇ Busan and Ulsan 358 units ◇ Gangwon 66 units ◇ North Chungcheong 51 units ◇ Daejeon and South Chungcheong 302 units ◇ North Jeolla 90 units ◇ Gwangju and South Jeolla 241 units ◇ Daegu and North Gyeongsang 242 units ◇ South Gyeongsang 136 units ◇ Jeju 14 units.
Jeonse deposits are supported up to 130 million won in the Seoul metropolitan area, 90 million won in metropolitan cities, and 70 million won in other regions, and tenants pay 2% or 5% of the jeonse deposit within the support limit as a rental deposit. Monthly rent is calculated by applying an annual interest rate of 1.2% to 2.2% to the supported amount.
The initial lease term is two years, and after the term expires, it can be renewed 14 times in two-year increments. However, if income and asset criteria and other requirements are not met at the time of renewal, the rental deposit and rent may be surcharged, and those who are 65 or older, are severely disabled, or meet first-priority requirements at the time of renewal may reside without a limit on the number of renewals.
Applications can be submitted from June 8 to June 12 through the Community Service Center (eup, myeon, and dong offices) of the resident registration address, and after qualification verification, the results of tenant selection will be announced after September.
