POSCO E&C said on the 17th that it wrapped up its companywide artificial intelligence (AI) challenge competition, which ran for about two months starting on the 15th.
The event was part of a work-innovation strategy and was conducted in a way that had all employees learn AI directly and apply it to real work. A total of 1,887 people took part across four categories: video, reports, AI agents (Agent), and Golden Bell. During the competition, 1,012 people attended a total of 10 pre-education sessions to build AI capabilities, both in person and online.
POSCO E&C selected the "work daily report automation AI agent" as the top work in the category. The system is notable for converting the manually produced daily work logs at construction sites into a data-driven framework.
POSCO E&C said, "The work daily report automation AI agent is expected to save about 375 hours of work per on-site manager annually (about two months)."
POSCO E&C plans to push ahead with upgrades to apply the system to sites going forward.
