The Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH)-led redevelopment project for Sanbon District 9-2 in Gunpo is gaining momentum. After establishing the project implementation plan, it plans to begin the process of selecting Sigongsa within the year.

According to LH on the 15th, the corporation signed a project implementation agreement with the residents' representative council of Sanbon District 9-2 in Gunpo.

Sanbon District 9-2 in Gunpo was designated and announced as a special redevelopment zone in Dec. last year under the Special Act on the Maintenance and Support of Aging Planned Cities. With LH designated as the project implementer in Mar., it is moving the fastest among the leading districts in the first-phase new towns where LH is participating. LH will supply 3,376 households through this redevelopment project.

The agreement aims to establish step-by-step detailed execution plans for matters such as selecting Sigongsa for Sanbon District 9-2 in Gunpo, obtaining project implementation approval, and formulating a management and disposal plan. The purpose is to strengthen execution by boosting cohesion between residents and the public implementer.

After the agreement, LH plans to begin formulating the project implementation plan in cooperation with the residents' representative council. The process to select a contractor will also proceed in the second half of this year.

Kang O-sun, head of LH's Regional Balance Headquarters, said, "As Sanbon District 9-2 in Gunpo is the first among the leading districts in the first-phase new towns where LH has been designated as the project implementer, we are focusing our capabilities so it can serve as a model case," and added, "We will do our best to ensure the project proceeds swiftly based on close communication with residents."
