The Seoul city government will push to build a new student dormitory at Chongshin University in Sadang-dong, Dongjak District.
The Seoul city government said on the 7th that at the 7th Urban Planning Commission meeting held on the 6th, it approved with amendments a change to the decision on the urban planning facility (school) and detailed facility development plan for Chongshin University at 200-1 Sadang-dong, Dongjak District.
The centerpiece of the plan is a new dormitory to improve the student living environment. The new dormitory will have 2 basement levels and 7 above ground, with a total floor area of about 9,994㎡. Construction will begin in Aug. and aim for completion in Aug. 2027. In addition, considering the site's frontage along Sadang-ro, the plan introduces street-activating uses such as commercial and community facilities and eases the height at the school boundary.
The Seoul city government expected that the decision would expand student capacity and enhance housing stability. It also anticipated contributing to local revitalization by opening some facilities such as a museum, open lecture rooms, and a gymnasium.
