Hanwha Construction Division said on the 30th that it has launched rewards for the "Safety Reporting Goal-achievement Challenge" to boost participation in the Safety Reporting system, moving to spread a site-centered, voluntary safety culture.
Hanwha Construction Division on the 29th carried out relay rewards for three sites that achieved the "Safety Reporting Goal-achievement Challenge." The challenge was designed to encourage workers' voluntary safety participation and establish a site-centered safety culture.
The program ran for about seven months from September 2025 to March 2026 across all building and infrastructure sites, selecting outstanding sites based on the number of Safety Reporting submissions and the results of corrective actions.
The sites that met the goal this time are three locations: the Seoul Station North Station Area, the Dongtan–Indeokwon double-track railway Section 9, and the Mokpo resource recovery facility. Each site received tailored rewards such as coffee and beverage trucks and snack trucks according to its achievement rate, which increased voluntary participation among site members and strengthened execution of safety activities.
Hanwha Construction Division plans to designate outstanding sites with high voluntary participation rates as "mentor sites" and spread best practices companywide. Through this, it aims to further strengthen the system for identifying risk factors and preventing accidents based on the Safety Reporting system.
Earlier in February and March, the same challenge also rewarded a total of nine sites, including the Seoul Arena complex cultural facility, the Daejeon Doma Byeondong District 9 redevelopment, the Wolgot–Pangyo double-track railway Section 7, and the Sejong–Anseong expressway Section 2. In particular, the Seoul Station North Station Area site recorded three rewards to date through cumulative achievements, including this round.
Kim Yun-hae, head of Safety, Environment and Management at Hanwha Construction Division, said, "Safety management is the top value that a construction company and its workers must practice together," adding, "Through operating a voluntary-participation-based Safety Reporting system, we will identify risk factors in advance and further strengthen a site-centered safety management system."
