IS Dongseo said on the 28th that it conducted training on the use of Generative AI to improve employees' work productivity and strengthen their capabilities to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The training began at headquarters on the 23rd and is being rolled out sequentially at construction sites and manufacturing plants, with the final schedule now underway. It was organized with a focus on hands-on practice to boost on-the-job applicability by inviting AI experts.
The training covered: ▲ writing prompts, practical exercises, and cautions when using them for work ▲ drafting reports using various Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Genspark ▲ using Excel macros and VBA.
To spread an AI-utilization culture companywide, the company plans to grant benefits in personnel evaluations to those who complete the training and support all employees in autonomously choosing and subscribing to paid Generative AI services suited to their job characteristics.
Meanwhile, IS Dongseo is pushing to build an AI-based "autonomous concrete production system" at its Icheon plant to smarten the entire manufacturing process. It plans to complete the equipment installation within the year and achieve full-process automation applying AI mixing technology to further enhance quality precision and operational efficiency.
The company is also reviewing the introduction of AI technology to advance its safety management system. The system integrates AI analysis with CCTV to automatically identify various risk signs, such as fires, falls, and intrusions into unauthorized areas, and immediately send alerts to on-site managers' mobile devices when an abnormal situation occurs. This is expected to supplement the limits of existing manpower-centered monitoring, eliminate blind spots in safety, and establish an environment that enables preemptive response before accidents occur.
