Hyundai Engineering & Construction said on the 28th it unveiled the landmark design to be applied to Apgujeong District 3, "One Scene."

"One Scene" is a core element of the "OWN THE ONE" vision presented by Hyundai Engineering & Construction, a design concept that seeks to carry forward the existing values of Apgujeong Hyundai while creating a world-class landmark.

For this design, Hyundai Engineering & Construction collaborated with global architecture firms RAMSA and Morphosis. RAMSA, an architectural office that designed "220 Central Park South" in Manhattan, New York, applied a design based on classical proportions and details. Morphosis, a firm known for future-oriented architecture, added a sculptural quality that breaks out of the conventional framework of residential design.

The "Riverfront Collection" proposed through the two firms' collaboration centers on eight buildings arranged along the Han River, each featuring different facades and varied heights. The plan is to secure sculptural diversity within the overall skyline of the complex and create a landscape that differentiates it from conventional apartment layouts.

View-optimized features were also incorporated. Projecting terraces are applied to every unit and three-side open corner windows are introduced to allow views of the Han River and the city center. In addition, 3-meter cove ceilings are used to enhance the sense of space.

For the exterior, premium stone, aluminum panels, and building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) are used as finishes to address both design and function.

Based on this design, Hyundai Engineering & Construction presented the "ONE City" concept to realize a complex of about 5,000 units as a single integrated urban idea.

A Hyundai Engineering & Construction official said, "This design focuses on reinterpreting the value of Apgujeong Hyundai in a modern way to transform not only the complex but the cityscape," and noted, "It will present a new skyline for Apgujeong District 3."
