Hyundai Engineering & Construction said on the 27th that it ranked No. 1 in the world in the construction institutional sector on the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices (DJ BIC) released by S&P Global.
DJ BIC is a revamped assessment of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) that selects the top 10% in sustainability among the top 2,500 corporations worldwide by market capitalization.
In assessments divided into global, Asia-Pacific, and Korea, Hyundai Engineering & Construction was the only domestic builder to be included in all indices for 16 consecutive years. At the same time, it was named in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2026 Top 10%.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction is advancing ESG (environmental, social, and governance) management by building a management system for other indirect emissions (Scope 3), introducing a companywide ESG IT system, strengthening internal controls for sustainability, and expanding disclosure of ESG data for subsidiaries.
These results are continuing at domestic and overseas rating agencies as well. It maintained an overall A grade for eight consecutive years in the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS) assessment, and received A grades in both the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) ESG assessment and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).
A Hyundai Engineering & Construction official said, "This achievement is the result of companywide sustainability efforts, including responding to climate change, practicing safety management, and establishing transparent governance," adding, "We will continue to build a sustainable future by pursuing carbon neutrality and creating social value."
