The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said on the 27th that it will hold a "Smart City solution business consultation meeting" on the 28th at the Garden Hotel in Seoul to support the commercialization of excellent solutions discovered and verified through the Smart City support project.

The consultation meeting is a follow-up program arranged so that Smart City technologies proven through various government support projects—such as support for creating an innovation ecosystem in national pilot cities, discovering Smart City innovative technologies, activating the regulatory sandbox, and overseas demonstrations through the K-City Network—can lead to actual business contracts. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) plans to focus on operating one-on-one business consultations to help ensure this meeting leads to tangible business outcomes.

A total of 35 institutions will participate in the event, including 16 corporations with outstanding solutions in the Smart City field; five local governments nationwide, such as Sejong City and Busan City; the Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH); and private construction and telecommunications companies.

The consultation meeting will also run technology commercialization training and a seminar introducing the Smart City support project to strengthen participating corporations' commercialization capabilities and expand links with future support programs.

Starting with this consultation meeting, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) plans to continuously promote a business matching program to support the commercialization of Smart City innovative technologies, strengthening a support system that extends from technology demonstration to market entry.

Kim Yeon-hee, head of the Urban Economy Division at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), said, "This Smart City solution business consultation meeting aims to connect demand sources so that Smart City technologies verified through demonstrations can be applied to actual urban sites," adding, "We will continue to actively support the commercialization and market development of Smart City innovative technologies through follow-up measures such as holding regular consultation meetings."
