Hanwha Construction Division and the Daewoo Engineering & Construction consortium were selected as the contractor for the Sindaebang Station area redevelopment project, it said on the 27th.
The Sindaebang Station area redevelopment residents' representative meeting finalized the Hanwha Construction Division–Daewoo Engineering & Construction consortium as the contractor through a union general meeting on the 25th.
The project is a redevelopment to build 11 apartment buildings with 1,586 units from 7 floors underground to 29 floors above ground in the area of 600-14, Sindaebang-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, with construction costs of about 581.7 billion won. It is the first redevelopment project that Hanwha Construction Division has won this year.
Based on its "double-station" location at Line No. 2 Sindaebang Station and the planned Sinansan Line, the complex is set to be developed under the tentative name "Forena Prugio Boramae."
The consortium was selected as the contractor by presenting an alternative design and a specialized design that improved the existing plans, adding 61 units and enhancing project efficiency.
The complex is planned as a residential space centered on a central courtyard and a theme park, and the exterior will feature aluminum art walls and patterned facade design. About 95% of all units will face south, and the share of slab-type floor plans has been increased.
In addition, a public pedestrian path connected to the complex's central plaza will improve access to Line No. 2 Sindaebang Station and the Sinansan Line, and a sky lounge with views of Boramae Park is planned for the top floor.
Kim Woo-seok of Hanwha Construction Division said, "Based on the construction experience held by both companies, we will push the project forward stably and complete it as a flagship residential complex representing southwestern Seoul."
