Daewoo Engineering & Construction said on the 24th that it installed large outdoor ads across downtown Hanoi to welcome President Lee Jae-myung, who is on a state visit to Vietnam.
Daewoo Engineering & Construction posted an extra-large ad on the exterior wall of a mixed-use development in Starlake City in Hanoi that reads, "Welcome to Vietnam, President Lee Jae-myung. From all employees of Daewoo Engineering & Construction." The ad measures 21 meters wide and 25 meters high and was installed on the upper section of a 35-story building.
The ad was installed on the 18th to coincide with the president's state visit to Vietnam from April 21 to 24, and Daewoo Engineering & Construction is also running additional welcome ads in key areas of Hanoi. A Daewoo Engineering & Construction official said, "Beyond a simple welcome message, this is 'economic diplomacy' by a Korean company that has conducted business in Vietnam for a long period, supporting the strengthening of relations between the two countries at the private-sector level."
Meanwhile, during the state visit, the leaders of the two countries agreed to expand cooperation in major industrial sectors such as infrastructure, energy and nuclear power. As a result, expectations are rising that Korean corporations will have more opportunities to participate in Vietnam's national development projects going forward.
