Hoban Construction said on the 24th that it will partner with Upstage to build an integrated artificial intelligence (AI) agent platform.
Hoban Construction signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Upstage on the 23rd at its headquarters in Seocho-gu, Seoul, for the development of an "integrated AI agent platform." The agreement was arranged to strengthen the companywide foundation for AI use and to drive work innovation and productivity gains.
Under the agreement, Hoban Construction will lead the platform's development and handle data and work process provision and pilot projects. It plans to build a structure that integrates and manages data generated across the entire construction process—design, construction, quality, and safety—and enables intelligent task processing. Through this, it plans to expand AI use across various areas, including drafting and managing documents, data analysis, and upgrading reporting systems.
Upstage will develop and supply AI models based on its in-house large language model (LLM) "Solar." It plans to advance industry-specific AI through document-processing AI technology, fine-tuning models specialized for construction and real estate, and research on design drawing analysis technology.
Hoban Construction plans to enhance overall work efficiency and decision-making systems in the construction industry through the platform. After verifying effectiveness through field-centered pilots, it will gradually expand the initiative across Hoban Group. It aims to strengthen digital transformation competitiveness by expanding accumulated data operation experience and AI application cases into a group-wide common asset.
A Hoban Construction official said, "Through this agreement, we will consolidate data and work processes organically around the integrated AI agent platform and drive tangible work innovation and productivity gains," adding, "We will extend the AI utilization system verified at Hoban Construction across the group and continue to reinforce the foundation for AI transition."
